21 Feb 2017, Gasa:
Gasa Dzongkhag assembled in Bjishong Central School at Damji to celebrate the most sacred 37th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The King. The celebration was attended by about 1000 people including the students, public, Regional offices, Gewog and Dzongkhag officials. 
Under the cover of romantic mist and fog, intermittently blessed with sacred water from heaven, the celebration commenced with the reception of the Chief Guest – Lam Neten of Gasa Rabdey in a Chipdrel procession to the Tendril ground. As soon as the Chief Guest was at the Tendril ground, the National Flag was hoisted by the team of RBP. Immediately the National Anthem was sung by the everyone. This was followed by lighting of butter lamps by the Chief Guest in a special Choesum that housed His Majesty’s Kupar. Thereafter led by Lam Neten, everyone offered Zabten to His Majesty. Then the Chief Guest delivered his address to the gathering. His address covered the brief biography of His Majesty to date and most importantly offered Tashi Delek and Tashi lekmoen to His Majesty on the most auspicious 37th Birth Anniversary. This was followed by reciting of Palden Drukpa Gyalo by everyone and march past by the students. 
A variety of cultural and entertainment programme, including free raffle draws and finally concluded with Tashi Laybey. Everyone was treated with sumptuous vegetarian lunch.
